Just spent the 31 minutes on the phone with Citi, trying to find out how much my new mortgage payment will be, since we switched insurance providers last month.  Call the customer support number (1-800-283-7918) and ask.  They transfer me to the Insurance Center (1-800-442-8774).  She verifies my information (for the 4th time), and I get transferred again, to 1-800-283-7918.  If that number seems familiar, that’s because it’s the same number I called to begin with.

I’m told to ask for an “Escrow Analysis”.  The nice gentleman puts me on hold, and begins the process.  He comes back after about 3 minutes, and tells me that they’ll let me know when the analysis is ready.  I ask “How long should it take?”.  He puts me on hold, again.  This time, for almost 20 minutes.  He comes back and tells me that it should be ready by the end of the month.

Again, I am amazed by the fact that companies that are based around computers, and money, can still take two weeks to parse some data, and get a result!  Sounds like they need some Hadoop love.
